Some of my earliest and most precious memories are being led on a horse. I never owned one growing up but continued to obsess over them just the same. There was just something about them! Flash forward 30 years, my 10 year old daughter began to share my love of horses. Sadly, she and I would go through an immense tragedy. During this difficult time, a dear friend would offer horse riding lessons to my daughter. At the stable where she rode, a horse was gifted to us, and from that point on, our lives were forever changed. Horses gave us the gift of healing; an unimaginable interchange of energy that words could not describe. As I watched them unknowingly and unselfishly heal our hearts, I became determined to help horses and spend as much time as possible with them. I want to do my best to give back to them in any way that I can. Our first sweet horse struggled with remaining sound, and so a Barefoot Practitioner named Sheila from ‘Success With Horses’ was recommended to me as a corrective trimmer. As I watched her work her magic, I became intrigued and needed to know more about her training. I quickly knew that I had to join this program! The teachers, Birgitta and Connie give their time, energy, and so much passion to helping horses through there hooves. I feel so honored and grateful to become a part of this wonderful team of professionals who are truly dedicated to healing our equine heroes, one hoof at a time.
